Lockers

Lockers in the subject libraries

The lockers located in the subject libraries can be used for a limited period of time (usually for a period of three months). The period can be extended - provided there are enough lockers available.

The keys for the lockers are the personal responsibility of the users for the duration of use. In case of loss, the user is liable to pay compensation. Books from library collections may be kept in the lockers only if they have been properly borrowed beforehand. In such cases, the book voucher should remain in the book.

Periodical booklets and volumes, books from semester collections and the other reference collections may not be placed in the lockers. In the subject libraries 2 (level BZ 08) and 5 (level BZ 10) there are additional lockers that can be used for a short time or by the day without prior registration. These lockers are equipped with coin deposit locks (insertion of either 1 or 2 euro coins) and are emptied daily after the library closes.

The library assumes no liability for items stored in the lockers. Violation of these regulations will result in the revocation of the use of the lockers. These regulations do not override §3 (3) of the Library Regulations.

Lockers outside the library

In the hallway in front of the library at the Grifflenberg campus there are numerous lockers that are accessible during opening hours. You can lock there all things that you are not allowed to take into the library.

Although our usage rules state that bags, jackets, and coats may not be taken into the library, our current practice is to allow them to be taken.

These lockers are also equipped with coin deposit locks (1- or 2-euro coins) and are not available for overnight use.
